ournal of King Abdualaziz University: Marine Sciences (JKAU:Mar. Sci.) is a multidisciplinary journal in marine sciences and is devoted to the publication of original research with emphasis on fundamental aspects of marine sciences.

The journal publishes peer-reviewed research papers in the entire range of marine research. Original articles, review articles, letters to the editor and book reviews are to be published in this journal. Materials that contribute to the scientific understanding of marine environment of the Red Sea, Arabian Gulf and adjacent seas may be preferred.

Title page

A title of not more than 12 words should be provided. Titles do not normally include numbers, acronyms, abbreviations or punctuation. They should include sufficient detail for indexing purposes but be general enough for readers outside the field to appreciate what the paper is about.

Author's information and present address

Author name: Authors must provide first name followed by surname. All contributing authors’ names should be added to the journal submission, and their names arranged in the correct order for publication.

Correct email addresses should be supplied for each author in their separate author accounts

The full name of each author must be present in their author account in the exact format they should appear for publication.

The affiliation of each contributing author should be correct in their individual author account. The affiliation listed should be where they were based at the time that the research for the paper was conducted

Abstract

An Abstract is required for every paper; it should succinctly summarize the reason for the work, the main findings, and the conclusions of the study. The abstract should be no longer than 300 words. Do not include artwork, tables, elaborate equations or references to other par

The submitted manuscripts are initially evaluated for their originality, scientific merit and novelty. Manuscripts that are not found within the scope of the journal, without any significance for advancing the knowledge in marine sciences will be rejected at the initial stage. Manuscripts that are not prepared according to author guidelines or with language errors will be returned to the authors for revision. Those manuscripts that fall within the scope of the journal and are prepared according to the guidelines will be sent to 2-4 reviewers for evaluation.
