Islamic University Journal of Islamic Legal Science ; مجلة الجامعة الإسلامية للعلوم الشرعية الإسلامية

The Islamic University Journal of Islamic Legal Sciences: is a scientific peer-reviewed quarterly Journal. It aims to enrich the scholarly movement and provide researchers with the opportunity to publish their scientific work. It also aims to be a bright cultural face for the University, by honestly propagating her lofty message. The first issue of the Journal was published under the title: (Journal of the Islamic University) in the month of Rab?‘ al-Awwal of the year 1388 AH, and the issue was published with a speech by the then Vice President of the University His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him), and it includes what will be its methodology, and what it aims to achieve. The Journal continued to issue - after that – successively, and the University professors and students were the one who used to write its contents, while some scholars and writers from outside the university may also join them. The Journal's contents varied in its early years; In addition to documented researches and studies, it included fatwas, literary and medical articles, poems, news of the university and its various activities, extracts from newspapers, magazines and books, and summaries of some materials in the English language. Then the university magazine abandoned its comprehensive cultural content with the publication of issue (63/64) in 1404 AH, after which it adopted the publication of documented scholarly researches only, as mentioned in the preamble to this issue. Also, after the issuance of the Unified Regulation for University Journals in the Kingdom, then the issuance of the Unified Law of Scientific Research in Universities, the Journal began to subject the researches it receives to strict academic review, based on well-established rules and principles; and henceforth, it only publishes what has been approved by the review experts. Then the University Council issued a resolution in the academic year 1438/1439 AH, which includes the branching of the university’s journal according to the academic disciplines of the university, including the Islamic University Journal of Legal Sciences, which became an extension of the Islamic University’s Journal in its numerical sequence, with its first issue bearing number (184).
